Your Website Design Is Very Important

Your website is the hub of your online business; it is the virtual representation of your company whether your company exists physically or not. When you are doing business online, people cannot see you physically like how they could if they were dealing with an offline company. Hence, people do judge you by your covers. This is where a good design comes in.

Imagine if you are running an offline company. Would you allow your salespersons to be dressed in shabby or casual clothes when they are dealing with your customers? By making your staff wear professionally, you are telling your customers that you do care about quality. This works simply because first impressions matter.

Similarly, the same case is with your website. If your website is put together shabbily and looks like a 5 minute "quick fix", you are literally shouting to your visitors that you are not professional and you do not care for quality.

On the opposite, if you have a totally professional looking website layout, you are giving your visitors the perception that you have given meticulous attention to every detail and you care about professionalism. You are organised, focused and you really mean business.

On the other hand, you should also have anything related to your company well designed. From business cards to letterheads to promotional brochures, every little bit matters. This is because as you grow your business, these items become the face of your business. Once again, think of the "salesperson dressed shabbily" anology, and you will get my point.

Choosing a Web Host For Your Website

With the landing of the fibre optic cable in Kenya, many businesses will look forward to own their websites. You are excited about the prospects of getting a website for your business. You have the design in your mind and know exactly on how the website will function. Know to the hard part. Where do you get your ideal website? This question can be the cause of many migraines. There are some of the things you need to know when choosing a web host.

1. Do a simple Google or Yahoo search. Use up to at least five keywords. For example: "Web hosting + Company + Kenya". These are general terms. If you want to go specific, try, "E-commerce + Web host". The less keywords you use, the more the quality of results you will get. Even if someone has recommended a web hosting company for you, do your own research.

2. Go to web reviews. There are many web hosting reviews that you can check out. Try to look at least five of these reviews. There should be three or more sites that come up in all the reviews.

3. So now you should have settled for three possible web hosts. Now the task becomes harder. You have to study what they are offering. Make notes of the difference. What is one offering that the other is not? How much am I going to be charged? How much am I willing to give? What are their payment plans? What is the mode of payment? Write them down. Make sure that what they are offering will add to your hosting needs. You could find an extra value added service in the various web hosting offers. Then with all the facts make a decision and choose one.

How to Start Your Website

By: Anthony Callea

If you want to start your own website, here is a three-step guide to help you go about it successfully. The three crucial steps are: (a) hiring a web designer to put together a really good site, (b) finding a good host for your website, (c) putting your site in the search engines so that people will find it online. Of course, the success of your site rests on your position in the search engines.

Hiring a web designer shouldn't be too difficult. There are many professionals out there that do a stellar job on websites of all kinds. Or, you can put together the website by yourself. However you do it, you should make sure the results are good. If you have a well-designed site that's simple to navigate, visitors will keep coming back for more.

The next step involves finding good web host for your website. This may seem like a simple task; however it can be quite difficult. This is especially true if you're new to the online world. There are so many web hosts out there, so they can get a little bit confusing, even for the experienced among us.

If you're serious about creating a good website, the best advice is to stay away from free web hosts. Free web hosts don't provide the resources and features you will need to run a successful online business. It's better to find a good company from the start that will grow with you as your business flourishes. In the end, you get what you pay for. This is why it's good to find a reasonably priced web host that offers great features, resources, and customer support. If you do this, you will be off to a very good start.

So now you have your web site designed, and you have the host that keeps it online. So what's next? Now you have to do some marketing. You basically have to get the word out there that you exist on the Internet and have something to provide people. How do you do this? How do you let people know that you exist online?

Advertising on the net is a different ball game altogether. In other words, Internet marketing is quite different than normal marketing. Here you have to do your level best in order to find a top position in the search engines. The moment someone types a keyword, your site should pop up somewhere on the top. Then you stand a good chance of converting these visits into sales.

The best way to get the search engines to recognize your site is link building. You can increase web traffic and get higher rankings on search engines and other directories with the help of sites like http://www.botwreviews.com. Here you can read, review and search comments and coupons as well as research a topic using this directory.

This site is one of the oldest directories on the Internet and has been providing valuable information since 1994. It rejects the sites that do not meet the minimal criteria. Therefore make sure you have a great site with original content. Then it will not only take you but make sure your business succeeds.

Top 5 Things To Look For In A Web Host

.

A web host is a company that provides you with server space to host and control your website along with a whole lot of services such as software scripts, shopping carts, and other plug-ins.

Well, if you want to be on the Internet, you need a web host but not just any webhost - you need a quality and reliable web host to ensure that your website performs well. Thus, when you choose a web host you need to be careful; here are the top 5 things you must look for in any web host:

Reputation and experience: This should be your primary concern because if a web host does not have a reputation and experience to back him, then chances are that your website will be used as a test guinea pig. Plus, the web host must have a record that shows at least 95-97% server uptime, financial stability, and good testimonials from its existing customers.

Infrastructure & scalability: Your web host must be equipped with the latest infrastructure and he should be willing and able to scale up this infrastructure, given the rapid technological obsolescence that is happening around us. And that's not all, your webhost to keep pace with your business too - if your website needs sophisticated web architecture, then you must look for a solid, technosavvy host.

Support: Does you web host have a 24/7/366 online and offline customer support system? If he doesn't, don't even consider him because if one fine day your site or ftp fails and you don't find anyone to talk to, you will end up losing business as well as reputation.

Bandwidth: Choose a webhost who is known to provide the latest, super express deluxe network lines that make browsing and downloading a pleasure for all website visitors. Nowadays, audio and video are getting into the Internet like no one's business and your web host must have enough redundant bandwidth to face heavy usage, if and when it occurs.

Software: Lastly, look at the scripts and software your host is supporting you with. Nowadays, even ordinary web hosts provide tools such as an easy-to-use control panel, shopping cart, blog integration, visitor tracking, and much more.

Those were the top 5 things you must look for before booking space with a web host. Remember, space and costs do not figure in the top 5 because most hosting plans are very affordable and give you ample space, and so they are not such a top consideration anymore.

So go ahead and hunt for the right host and just remember one thing: do not compromise on quality even if the costs are a little higher. Happy hunting then.
